IAYB is teaming up with sponsor Yoga for Round Bodies to bring you a super giveaway! Win a one-hour Skype sesssion with YRB founder Tiina Veer and learn how to modify your yoga practice to suit your body.

The Toronto-based Yoga for Round Bodies offers classes and retreats for plus-sized women, as well as trainings for yoga teachers. Driven by a mission to make yoga accessible to more people, YRB is part of a growing movement of full-bodied teachers and students who want to reclaim the practice.

Up for grabs: 1 one-hour private Skype session with Tiina Veer, available in two options.
1) For yoga students – learn tips and tricks to bring into your regular yoga practice.
2) For yoga teachers – a consultation with Veer addressing specific needs for your students.

  1. Oh! I would love to have access to this!! I am a yoga teacher and I am definitely a round body. I work to make my class accessible to all, and I search for inclusive phrasing, terms and variations in each of my classes. I have even looked to travelling to TO to take a workshop with Yoga for Round Bodies, but with two kids in tow, it would be almost impossible.
    I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed..Pick me!! lol

  2. I’ve never been athletic, but I am still healthy and mostly in shape – that shape just doesn’t happen to be petite with a flat stomach! While I do my best to be myself in yoga class, I sometimes feel inferior even when I can do the full expression of a posture. I don’t see myself as looking as graceful as others without a belly, and get caught up in judgements. I would love to know a few tricks, mental and physical, to help me feel more confident in my yoga practice, especially when practicing with others!

  5. I am overweight since a few years, because of hormonal problems. I have never been a sporty person but my weight lately starts becoming a problem for my articulation : climbing stairs and my knees hurt, a lot of tendinitis also…
    I have started yoga so I can maybe solve this problem, but I have noticed that in traditional yoga class, some position are more difficult because of all the extra fat I have… Sadly, most of the teacher don’t know how to adapt it and don’t give me any trick…
    This is why having this class will be a way for me to enjoy yoga class without the frustration that it gives me sometimes, so I can stay healthy.
