giveaway! win a pass to the first annual yoga festival montreal!

So ma ville, Montreal, loves festivals. This town is just one non-stop festival from mid-June to mid-October. Film, dance, music, jazz, burlesque, dragon boating, food – there is a festival for just about everything in Montreal. In fact, Montrealers love festivals so much that there is a dedicated public space in the downtown core known as Place des Festivals (which is French for “Place of Festivals,” oui oui) and it’s hopping all year round!

However, despite all this festival craziness, there has never been a bilingual, community-organized yoga festival in Montreal. Not even a yoga conference, convergence or gathering. While urban centres around North America host large-scale yoga events of all flavours, nothing of the sort has happened in Montreal.

Until now. The first ever Yoga Festival Montreal will take place on June 8, 9 and 10! Organized by a crew of yoga and community lovers known as Yocomo (Yoga Community Montreal / Yoga Communauté Montréal),* this inaugural event aims to shine a light on the amazing Montreal yoga teachers and practitioners who are steadily doing their work, and to bring together the whole community of yoga lovers in Montreal.

The three days of festivities include asana, meditation, music, deep relaxation, philosophy and politics, with over 30 lineages and 50 hours of workshops, classes, performances, discussions and panels. All of the faculty, sponsors and exhibitors are sourced locally and there will be on-site composting, as part of the festival’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

  2. I can not wait to go to some of the workshops listed!!! So glad this is being held in Montreal.

  3. Really excited about this festival, but really bummed that it’s the same weekend as the Grand Prix. Probably a perfect antidote to the F1 madness, but unfortunately going to miss it. Good luck…

  4. it’s all yoga all weekend long, what’s not to like?

  5. I’ve never been to a yoga festival. This looks fun and interesting!

  6. Cuz yoga feels gooood! On ALL levels. Mentally: calms the jumping monkey mind. Spiritually: it helps you remember that there is more to life than your dry cleaning and moka latte. Physically: Jack be nimble. Men: if you want to know what Sting is raving about re: tantric, get your butt to the closest yoga studio to start. Ok where was I….well you get the picture. Come out and feed your soul with some yoga at the Montreal Yoga Festival, you won’t regret it!

  7. For the benefits! The knowledge! 😉

  8. I have never been to a festival. It’s on my bucket list and Montreal is one of my favourite cities.

  9. I need to do yoga to be confortable in myself. Festival with meaning teaching to explore will be amazing to win

  11. A yoga festival gives me the opportunity to immerse myself in yogic exploration and education and being among like minded people who share my passion.

  12. I have never been to a yoga festival – it would be such an amazing opportunity to learn about different types of yoga practices and philosophies. Yoga has brought so much balance and happiness into my life that such an opportunity to deepen my practice with all this knowledge would be such a gift. I don’t think I can afford to go if I don’t win a pass, so it truly would be a gift! Thanks for this opportunity!

  13. I love yoga festivals for the ENERGY – the people, the inspiration, the good karma in general – at least, I think that is what I love about them since I have NEVER BEEN! 😀

  14. J’aimerais y aller parce que le yoga fait partie de mavie ON & OFF depuis 20 ans… et présentement, je suis dans la phase OFF.. donc, ce serait une occasion magnifique de me remettre à ON!

  15. I just recently discovered YOGA to get a Spinal Health problem fixed and I was sincerely surprised of the positive outcome. The YOGA Festival might be a place to get more knowledge and as well sharing my experience what YOGA can do for you.

  16. Would love to make a trip to a city close to my heart to engage in the practice of my uniting consciousness in my heart – yoga. I love yoga festivals because it is the ultimate opportunity for sangha! Peace.

  17. I absolutely love the idea of a yoga festival – as it is the essence of yoga; UNION. It brings our community together to celebrate a traditional practice and philosophies from various lineages. We are given the opportunity to be inspired by and explore different teachers, which is really nice and challenging when you are used to a certain practice/philosophy.
    I am super excited!
