does the 1% need the yamas? (infographic)

Are rich people unethical? According to this infographic, created by @ohtinytony, those who are socially and financially better off could use the wisdom of the yamas, the five external disciplines outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The studies cited here reveal that the elite demographic could probably use a few lessons in satya (truthfulness), asteya (not stealing) and aparigraha (not coveting what isn’t ours).

  1. i’m a big fan of Chip’s translation of the sutras (i recommend it frequently). good shit and a down-to-earth perspective to add to the collection. 😉

  2. How do you think most of these 1%-ers got rich in the first place? By being ethical and moral? Yeah right. Just because they suddenly came into money doesn’t mean a leopard will suddenly change it’s spots…
