January 4, 2013 by Roseanne
We’re four days into 2013 and how many of us still remember our new year’s resolutions?
Whether or not you buy into the “new year/new you” cultural pressure, we’re all bombarded by messaging about gym deals, weight loss and detox at this time of year. It’s challenging, especially if you’re still feeling guilty about the butter cookies and Kahlua-filled chocolates you consumed over the holidays.
Anna Guest-Jelley of Curvy Yoga has come up with a saner and body-positive alternative to the early-January noise: Virtual CurveFest, a free online yoga practice. Set a loving intention for 2013 and practice yoga from home, with a community of body lovin’ yogis!
When is it?
Saturday, Jan. 5, beginning at 1:00pm ET (time zone converter)
- 1:00-2:00pm — Session 1: Back To Your Body, Back To Your Breath: Feeling Where You Are, Right Now
- 2:00-2:30pm — Break
- 2:30-3:30pm — Session 2: Intentions vs. Resolutions: Committing To Change With Love, Not Loathing
- 3:30-4:00pm — Break
- 4:00-5:00pm — Session 3: Restorative Yoga & Closing Ceremony
The Virtual CurveFest is FREE (yay!) To take part in the action, click here to sign up. You can participate as much or as little as you’d like.
If you can’t make it on the 5th — or, if you want to re-live the CurveFest, again & again — video recordings will be available for $20, after the event.
